On The Streets (words & music by Roy Evan Burstiner)
Begger’s time, when all is done, you learn to laugh when the race is run
The stories older then the ocean’s summer breeze
The papers print all the headline news, with all the boys that were born to lose
The corner’s alive and the night is always free
Forget the broken windows down on main street
And damage to the souls of a raging storm
Throw the dreams of a broken man, through the smoke of a neverland
The hungry man is lying by the door
Time will tell if secrets have no meaning
All the madness falling with the pain
On the street the crime is rough, the kids are learning from the backroad tough
Early warning on the sidewalk in the rain
Stop and go in a heart attack, looking forward and you can’t look back
Scars are burning to a light of a homeless born
Dealing with the wayward heart, grace is planted in the alley far
Strangers gather in the books of a nation torn
Dreams are written in a mindless phase, always wanted in a fog like haze
Shadows saving in the old man’s wrinkled hand
Blood is message and the head is lost, canvas dancers in the winter’s frost
Freedom rings in a place where we all stand
