Lost Highway (words & music by Roy Evan Burstiner)

We're walking home at midnight and the bars have all been closed
In our sweat soaked torn out t-shirts, we're running down the row
Well the temperatures a rising, hell's kitchen's getting hot
walking down these burning midnight streets we got

Battered souls arrested, in a whirlwind hurricane
And the blood that's spilled from the cobra tattooed angry gangs
The battlefield is scattered with notes of long lost love
And the wounded looking for the faith above

The city's raining heartbreaks, people left for lost
We got each other always for healing pain and cost
Let's hit the engine til it burns, and dies out out our sight
And we'll take this long lost highway of the night.

Broken tombstones marking, the fallen good or bad
As we add up all the crying from the past
Let's hit the engine til it burns, and dies out out our sight
And we'll take this long lost highway of the night.

The ghostly skies of New Mexico are pounding in our hearts
The future looms ahead of us, the past in beat up cars
Let's hit the engine til it burns, and dies out out our sight
And we'll take this long lost highway of the night
